1. DATA USAGE

Vantage Flip collects information from the active browser tab only when the user explicitly utilizes the extension. Specifically, it collects vehicle auction data (such as VIN, mileage, damage descriptions, and vehicle images) exclusively from copart.com and iaai.com. We also collect basic authentication data (email address and name) if the user chooses to create a Vantage Flip account. Additionally, the extension's background service worker accesses public APIs from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/* and https://api.nhtsa.gov/*) to retrieve safety recalls and complaint data based on the vehicle's VIN. Your data is used solely to synchronize your watchlists across devices and provide vehicle analysis. The collected vehicle data is transmitted to our secure backend servers (hosted on Supabase) and processed using Google's Gemini AI. This data is used solely to calculate vehicle flip scores, estimated repair costs, and maximum bid recommendations. We use this data exclusively to provide the core analytical functionality of the extension to the user.

1. Your name, username, email address, password is used for the following reasons; to personally identify you, authenticate you and for personal communications.
2. Website content such as listing details not limited to make, model, year, mileage, VIN, etc. and vehicle images to give our AI tool the best data set for a complete AI Analysis.

2. DATA STORAGE

Vehicle analysis history and user authentication tokens are stored securely in the user's local browser storage (chrome.storage.local). User account credentials and historical analysis logs are stored securely on our encrypted backend database.

Users can clear their local analysis history at any time directly through the extension interface.

3. DATA SHARING

Vantage Flip strictly protects user privacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, browsing history, or auction data to third parties. Vehicle data is shared securely with our AI provider strictly for the purpose of generating the vehicle analysis. We do not use your data for targeted advertising or any unrelated purposes.

4. WEBSITE ANALYTICS

Our marketing website (vantageflip.com) uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate visitor traffic, how people use the site, and real-world page performance (such as load and interaction timing). This may include page views, approximate location (such as country), device and browser type, referrers, anonymized interaction events (for example, which download buttons were clicked or how far a page was scrolled), and performance metrics. This information is used solely to improve the website and measure conversion and speed. We do not sell this data or use it for targeted advertising.
